Matt Frazier
Singer/Songwriter

Matt Frazier’s original acoustic music resonates with provocative passion and rhythmic vitality. He swims with ease in the mingled waters of folk, rock, pop, and country music. An LA performer with Nashville songwriting sensibilities, Matt pens songs that explore the deepest parts of our human experiences: oppression and triumph; sorrow and joy; loneliness and intimacy; pain and beauty. The Wisconsin State Journal calls Matt’s music "highly reflective and introspective, whether he’s singing about the big questions of life or the small struggles of individuals."

In the midst of such serious topics, Matt also interjects his witty takes on the most mundane elements of life. Songs about his need for sleep or his love of cheese always elicit hearty cheers and laughter from audiences.

On his debut solo CD, Out of the Shadows, Matt explores many musical textures through his skills as a multi-instrumentalist (he played every instrument on the CD). The Local Planet (Spokane, WA) says the CD is "an effort that’s amazing... in that it’s his first" and calls Matt "a musician’s musician."

A native of Louisville, KY, Matt now lives in Los Angeles, CA. His extensive musical background includes a bachelor’s degree in music theory and a parallel performance career as a drummer (he plays in backing bands for several other solo artists in Hollywood, CA). Matt has performed in small coffee shops, large arenas, and everything in between over the last ten years.

Matt has composed music for video, led workshops for songwriters and musicians, and traveled to study the music of other cultures (most notably in South Africa). Several of his songs have been recorded and released by other artists and have also been sung at large and small spiritual gatherings across the US and Canada. Matt has performed on and produced musical recordings for educational and not-for-profit organizations.

On the Rock side of Pop and the Pop side of Country, Matt Frazier performs insightful songs that touch all aspects of life.
